I shot John Mayer for Q. The plan was to shoot around his neighborhood, Nolita. We were chased around by paparazzi, no spot was save for even 10 minutes.

TIME asked me to shoot a black and white portfolio for the "year in pictures" issue of the best in film, TV, music and literature: Phoenix, Jeremy Renner, Glee, Mary Karr. We anticipated a lot of travel, but all chosen artists happened to be in New York that week. The story was shot over 3 days and went to press the fourth day.

Nascar-Verizon

I went to Nascar capital Charlotte for Verizon Wireless to shoot the Penske team that drives for Verizon. I shot at the team's stable, the two drivers Justin Allgaier and Will Powers (which is a pretty cool name), around the cars are some of the main crew members.
